Flooring & tile calculator
Measure one room or several, allow for cuts, and turn coverage into boxes or individual tiles.
Measure your project
Add separate sections for irregular spaces. Avoid overlaps. Use 10.5 ft for 10 ft 6 in.
Match your material

How this estimate works
Add measured areas, subtract exclusions and apply the allowance. Boxes = rounded-up order area ÷ box coverage. Tile count uses the tile dimensions in inches converted to square feet; grout joints are not subtracted.
Break irregular rooms into simple sections
Use separate rectangles for alcoves and connected areas. Include closets when they will receive the same material. Avoid overlapping sections. Flooring with a directional pattern, a diagonal layout or a matching requirement can create more offcuts than a straight layout; choose the allowance after discussing the layout with the installer.
Confirm everything needed beneath and around it
The finish material is only part of the job. Ask about subfloor preparation, moisture testing, underlayment, adhesives, transitions, base trim and removal of the old floor. For tile, confirm grout and setting-material needs separately. Package sizes vary by product, so enter the actual box coverage. Whole-box rounding can leave more spare material than the percentage alone suggests.
